🤖 AI People Search - User Guide
Step-by-step guide to using the AI-powered search interface
📋 Quick Start
1. Enter a Name
Type the person's full name in the search box. Examples:
John Smith
Jane Marie Doe
Robert Johnson Jr
💡 Tip: Use first and last name for best results. Middle names and suffixes (Jr, Sr, III) can help narrow results.
2. Click "Begin AI-Guided Search"
The AI assistant will guide you through searching 3 databases:
- Sex Offender Registry - National registry
- Arrest Warrants - Active and historical warrants
- Police Records - Police activity and reports
3. Watch Progress
The interface shows real-time progress with color-coded steps:
- ⚪ Grey - Waiting to search
- 🟡 Yellow - Currently searching
- 🟢 Green - Search complete
- 🔴 Red - Error (database unavailable)
4. Review Results
Results appear in organized cards showing:
- Person's name
- Database source
- Available details (age, charges, dates, etc.)
5. Narrow Results (Step 4)
If records are found, a filter panel appears allowing you to:
- Filter by Database: Show/hide results from specific sources
- Filter by State: Focus on a particular state (auto-detected from addresses)
- Sort Results: Order by name (A-Z), most recent, or database source
- Reset Filters: Return to showing all results
💡 Tip: Filters apply in real-time. Check/uncheck boxes to instantly see changes. The summary shows how many records match your filters.
🔍 Search Tips
Getting Better Results
Use Common Name Variations:
- Try both "Robert" and "Bob"
- Search "Michael" and "Mike" separately
- Include middle initials if known
If No Results Found
- ✅ Check spelling carefully
- ✅ Try different name orders ("John Doe" vs "Doe John")
- ✅ Remove middle names to broaden search
- ✅ Try maiden names or aliases
- ✅ Search with only first or last name
Understanding Results
⚠️ Important: Results show public records only. Always verify information through official channels before taking action.
